I purchased these component cables from Wal-Mart about a year ago (early 2007) back when official Nintendo component cables were hopelessly unavailable due to lack of supply. That is not the case now.
First off, a disclaimer: I run component over an SDTV that accepts component inputs, NOT an EDTV or HDTV. On my set, at least, the picture is noticeably sharper over the standard RCA cables, although I am not running the visuals in 480p so I can’t testify to their ability on sets that display in that format.
I also output the sound into a home theater, which has had no problems that I am aware of.
I understand that some Psyclone products, such as the Nintendo Wii Recharge Station, have had problems so I understand the hesitation in purchasing the brand. That, combined with the fact that 1st party cables are readily available (to say nothing of 3rd party solutions from MadCatz and others) makes this a less attractive option.
Still, these are cheap enough (at the time of this review, they are $10 less than 1st party cables) that they are probably worth a risk if you buy them from a retail store, as they are less expensive and can be returned without hassle that way. I’m not sure I’d chance it online, though.

These cables are absolute junk. I hooked them up to my brand new LCD HDTV and wanted to experience the Wii in 480p, but no such luck. First of all, the right audio channel had an awful and highly irritating buzz no matter which input I plugged it into, and the colors were so washed out the picture was nearly black and white! Whenever there was a movement on the screen, I would see flickers of red and green lines. Horrible, horrible cables. Do the smart thing and learn from my mistake: Buy your Wii Component cables from Nintendo direct. I sure wish I did.
